The public display of compliment is out of character for the reserved Kevin, but from being able to be privy to all the small moments between the couple, we viewers know it comes from the deepest and most sincere place. When we get to hear Kevin stand up for his husband, not only because of how smart he is but also because of how he has chosen a life of service, I get more than a little choked up. Also, they are strange, so wonderfully strange. to the symphony tickets tell, this couple is incredibly intimate.

I may never forgive Brooklyn Nine-Nine for failing to give us a Harry Potter riff-off between Jake and Captain Holt and some nerdy college kids. The episode takes a rather yawn-inducing turn from there and doesn’t truly pique my interest again until the very end when Kevin makes his beautiful kerfuffle speech. It lets the actors showcase their physical comedy, while gently poking fun at Jake’s serious FOMO (fear of missing out). Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 Episode 13, “The Bimbo,” makes us fall even deeper in love with Captain Holt and Kevin (ship name Hevin?) while also making us a bit bored with the tired workplace-one-upping story we get from the rest of the 99.
